I read a note from you to a rat owner on the rec.pets newsgroup. You
mentioned that you were a vet and handled many rats. I have been keeping
rats for pets for about 3 years, and it seems that the majority of them have
developed tumors. I have read a few books on rats, and they say that rats
are quite prone to them. Is there any hope in preventing these? Does it
have something to do with heredity? I am wondering if I should buy them
somewhere else. I got 4 of my rats at a pet shop, and rescued 2 albinos
from a lab experiment. Any suggestions?

PS: You also mentioned in your note on rec.pets that you have a few text
