My friend just purchased Artificial Intelligence II and we were listening to disc one on a decently powerful home system at about 3AM. So track #7 Utubu, by Beaumont Hannant finished at the listed 8:08 and then prolonged silence ensued -- a bonus track??? We'll, as most of you probably know, there's a phone conversation that comes on at about 12 minutes or so. We listened to this expectantly, hoping for a really cool/strange/Warped/ thrashing tune to shortly present itself ..... some Englishman babbles with a girl about her bust size... fades and presto: At approx 17:00 deep bass rumblings emanated from the speakers. Not a beat literally tremblings or growling like an earth quake or a train passing by. Like standing in the ocean the gutteral bass washed over us (and through us) in waves, the whole room and corner of the apartment building began to shake, the windows rattled as if they would shatter any instant... the cd changer went to the next disc, as we stood in awe and mused over the mental state of the other tenets. Unsure of what had just happened we put returned to that cd and fast forwarded to the 17 min mark, turned down the treble(it was useless anyway), and pumped up the bass on the EQ (hell we even clicked the vol up a notch! sorry neighbors)... it was even stronger deeper and yet more intangible (like half of the frequencies were sub-bass level, below that of human hearing, but something that you could still feel). We were mesmerized ...as soon as it ended i hit stop button, and this is where it got even stranger! The CD player was stopped, but the bass still emanated through the room. We turned off the power to the CD,the EQ ... the whole room, windows, walls, pictures, (us!) were still resonating...I reached toward the speaker and Yikes it was still rumbling in time with everything else! ...finally we turned off the power to everything and it subsided. What the hell happened? What made this even stranger still was that we'd been discussing the effects of sound and electromagnetic waves/energy on the human body for the past hour or so. For example, certain sound frequencies will supposedly make you crap your pants andb some sub radio waves might alter thoughts! Maybe you've heard that bridges can and have collapsed from vibrating at a certain frequency. (hence there are laws, i think, about not having marching bands play accross bridges!) Has anyone experienced this? or have more info on such phenomenon? What about the B Hannant track...?????? We want to experiment now, try this and other related things out. Any other sound's like this on CD or vinyl??
