i can recommend some, but please don't call it ambient jungle. ;P it isn't ambient in any sense of the word. you might want to ask on the breaks list, send 'info breaks' in the body of your message to majordomo@xmission.com for more info. i'd say drum & bass is highly off topic here, and that's what you really call it. 'jungle' seems to be an awful catch all term now.

first off, the world of jungle does not work in the ways of LPs. it's singles and EP's for the most part. usually 2-3 trax a single, or 4 if you are lucky. i stick to buying cd compilations. it's cheaper. so don't go out thinking you can get a lot of jungle LP's...compilations are plenty though. just please be forewarned: don't buy anything off of the label jumpin' & pumpin'. bad sound quality, they dice the tracks and even speed them up on occasion. avoid. anyway, i recommend: 4 hero 'parallel universe', omni trio vol. 3, 4, or 5 and any of the remixes of those, a new album by omni trio is coming soon... also check out nookie (new album soon), compilations like 'counterforce' (which feature's a lot of dj crystl's material), 'renegade selector series 2', and listen up to labels like movin' shadow and ram and back 2 basics... a lot of compilations feature some 'deep jungle' cuts on them, and if you want to hear real jungle as well, they might be worth looking into... such as the drum & bass selection series and others. good lookin' records and ltj bukem also come to mind. personally, i'd ask on the breaks list, becase my knowledge is minimal compared to the read heads there. i just seem to be the only person who posts to bost lists on any regular basis...
