From Melody Maker's "Orbit" column (Jan. 14, 1995): Singles reviewed by Ben Turner Single of the Week: Drexcia 5 - The Journey Home EP (Warp) ---------------------------------------------------------- Having gave Kelli Hand the freedom to stomp, Warp gave the UR-associated team a free hand to continue their stunning, aquatic Drexcia series. This is existential techno, so experimental you'll sniff vodka to every fourth beat, blasting your mind into an abyss of self-destruction. "Black Sea" is intricate and melodic, "Darthouven Fish Men" continues the '95 stomp, while "Hydro Theory" is a moody swim through the Detroit underworld. There's also an interesting, semi-controversial interview with the Drexcia boys which I'll type in when I have the chance... Enjoy! - Matthew
