I was at the Mazzo when Richie spun but i don't know too much about
handbag. He did play one or two very disco-y tracks tho.
The first half of his (2,5 hours) set was mainly hard & minimal (but
still funky!) techno. After that he slowed down to spin some more
mellow stuff, a bit housey even (i saw some Tribal UK lying around).
Some of the records i remember hearing him play were the Detroit
Anonymous 10" and Carl Craig's remix of La Funk Mob's 'Ravers Suck Our
Sound' (Mo' Wax 10").
His mixing was really good (flawless) and his record selection too.
He kept me dancing all the time anyway! Great atmosphere at the
(small) Mazzo.
Cheers,
Hans
