Just a quick note, Fliesskoma (GR) released the debut CD from Toronto native <Tekniq>... a full review is located at IglooMag.com.. :) ---- fliesskoma newsletter 2003-03-22 contents · distribution · fk003 · fk004 · video · promotion · …and finally… distribution unfortunately it has taken some time but now we can give you a news update. the last year ended just like the new one began – with some bad luck for us. but we’ve expected that since fall 2002. maybe some of you know what has happened so we’ll just give you a brief summary of the recent events. after some upcoming irregularities with our original distributor connected/pias concerning the handling and care of our products we cancelled the contract. we planned to start our new partnership with soulfood/sony in january 2003. the general situation at connected worsened more and more during last fall and winter which caused a complete collapse of their distribution system at the turn of the year. in all that chaos our stock was locked away so long that for several weeks we had to survive without an active distribution. the good news for us didn’t come until mid-february – the cds had been transferred successfully and our work could continue. so as you can see the announcement of our upcoming products (fk003 and fk004) for fall/winter 2002 – as already advertised last summer – wasn’t just an empty promise – the “putting-on-ice” had clear reasons as described above. therefore the artists used the opportunity not to leave their albums on the level of summer 2002 but to improve them, add new tracks to them and – in the case of nersoton – even be involved into present-day news topics [they provided a dramatic and musically sophisticated composition dealing with the tragic crash of the space shuttle columbia as a free download for interested people and the media which made them accepted internationally]. by the way – the track “columbia” which was available on the internet just three days after the space chuttle catastrophe and got positive media response can’t be found on nersoton’s cd, but you can still download it for free from our webpage. fk003 artist: nersoton album: moonbug total time: 77min, 42sec tracks: 15 release date: 2003-05-12 here they are – two guys, thomas ostler and bruno soppa, living in total seclusion in the alpine outskirts far beyond good and evil in the village dorfen near munich. they are working on complex tracks for the space generation. since more than four years they have been producing works between ‘electronica’, ‘trip hop’ and ‘futurejazz’ in their studio which they also call their “noisebureau” and place of creativity. very often they let themselves be inspired by many different styles which can be heard in their music. on their album “moonbug” nersoton take us to unknown galaxies, to worlds of which we have already been dreaming as children… send us an e-mail if you want to have more information about the album or the band before the actual release-date. check our website for free audio extracts from the album “moonbug”. fk004 artist: autoform album: dualsystem total time: 76 min, 39 sec tracks: 19 release date: 2003-06-09 autoform is a project by karl kimmerl who is also one of fliesskoma’s two masterminds. karl doesn’t like the notion that music has to be assigned to certain styles, and so – just like in his daily label work – he consequently developed his own style, or respectively a mixture of different styles apart from typical industrial standards. his music bases on atmosphere not just on rhythm. when listening to his complex album you’ll find many sound elements from mostly different areas of electronic music: there are computerised breaks and clicks, experimental, partly sampled analogue sequences and even simple rhythm loops enriched with atmospheric sounds inviting you to chill for a while. so the title “dualsystem” precisely describes the concept of the album… send us an e-mail if you want to have more information about the album or the artists before the actual release-date. check our website for free audio extracts from the album “dualsystem”. video this is not a joke – we launch our first video!
