I think that the fragile suffers from the double album syndrome: its got container anxiety and way too much filler. I think it could be stripped down quite nicely to a single cd. I was really into NIN when I first heard them, to me it fused the pop of depeche mode with the intesity of ministry. The production is super smooth to boot. Really. Mr. Reznor comes up with some interesting things. The Fragile has some good stuff on it and who can't laugh at starfucker? I'm not a huge fan but I do think his music has its place/value whatever...some of it I like.
