ACCELERA DECK > SCOTT ALLISON > FIDGET > ROB MALL > NIKU
@ Silk City, 5th & Spring Garden, Phila Pa. 10pm-2am, 5$, 21+
--
Hey idm list peoples.
As you may or may not know, we have recently released tbtmo28: ACCELERA
DECK- Ipsissima Vox cd, split between us, Scarcelight Recordings, &
Skylab Operations. So Accelera deck has been doing some shows lately to
push that, and this Tues he will be back in Philly (some of you
remember last April's tbtmo/Skylab shows at La Tazza & Silk City w/
Accelera deck and others)...
Anyway, to the point, Tuesday night you can catch this prolific artist
from Birmingham, Alabama who's released on a multitude of labels over
several years including Morr Music, Fuzzy Box, 555, Rocket Racer,
Blackbean & Placenta, Skylab Operations, Pitchcadet, English Muffin,
Endorphin, tbtmo, and the list goes on. Not to mention his appearance
on the soundtrack of the late-'90s Miramax motion picture Hamlet. He
also records under aliases such as Exhalera deck, Your Favorite Horse,
and others.
Past releases of years ago were a sort of shoegaze / idm concoction and
he was one of the best, but new measures for new times, and Accelera
deck's recent disc centers around... well, here's the official descrip:
Ipsissima Vox....translated "the very voice" is the first Accelera Deck
full-length in over two years. The music is a sonic tapestry woven into
flickering, contorted bursts of static and waves of caustic feedback.
Within 15 songs, and over the course of 52 minutes Adeck mines the
depths of beautiful noise that his previous albums have only hinted at.
These sublime and intoxicating textures are freed from the constraints
of rhythm, yet do not indulge in mere "exploration" of sound for its
own sake. Rather the songs, and they are indeed songs, unfold revealing
new layers and offering juxtapositions of noise/melody,
structure/chaos, organic/synthetic. This album is culled from over ten
years of home recordings, edited, compiled, re-edited and assembled
into an unsettling, yet engaging document of blistering guitar damage,
and fractured electronics. hard'fucking'core.
So that about sums it up. Accelera deck will be performing w/ fellow
Birmingham artist Scott Allison and Philly's own Fuzzy Box artist
Fidget plus dj sets before and between from Rob Mall and Niku. All this
at Silk City, 10pm-2am, 5$, 21+.
The new Ipsissima Vox cd will be available as will our new tbtmo
t-shirts and probably some Accelera deck shirts as well.
Come out, get a couple drinks, or worse, and make a night of it.
