...in the realms of Ambient/IDM music? How is it possible that I had to learn about the BadOrb CD compilation "Bless You" by stumbling across it at the music store? I thought these lists were meant to keep me right on the bleeding edge of new releases within the genres? Anyway, it's out (released in the States on Shanachie as Shinbone Alley 4001, what the hell are they doing on Shanachie?) and if you have like the Orb in the past, you most likely enjoy this. Deep, brooding Orb-dub mixed with a bunch of new names to me. The double CD is worth the price of admission alone for the brilliant cover of Aqua's "Barbie Girl" by the Electric Chairs. The second CD is not as long as the first as they dumped their incredibly frustrating-to-navigate flash-disaster of a website (www.badorb.com) on there for you to peruse locally on you machine. FYI: Alex Patterson (or whoever is writing the liner notes) is beginning to sound like Roky Erickson. Mad as a March hare. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

It might have something to do with the fact that many of us HAVE been waiting for Badorb to release it on the terribly hard to navigate website which you mentioned. Not only is it a pain to deal with on the internet, it is often a pain to get what you ordered. As I type I am still awaiting Badorbs 11, 12 and 13 - having just ordered 14. I also just found out about the Shanachie comp. from a nonBadorber friend. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The badorb part refers to the fact that they will mess up every order you make with them, I am still awaiting CDs which they "claim" to have sent over a month ago. My mp3 subscription also has not appeared, when i first signed up I ordered all the bobs and togs for a year and they messed up all of the togs (but did finally work it out) but then this time it is a mess again, and i have heard nothing from the email i sent them over a week ago... on the upside i live in London so i may pay them a visit.... It is the Orb. LX decided to do what was supposed to be an "internet only" distro featuring highly limited releases by Orb members and guests. The idea was that there would be a new one for each moon...you order during the moon and that number were pressed and sent out - then the item was deleted. The Badorb site has been mentioning that there will be some kind of limited repress and a CD comp for MONTHS. At last mention, it was supposed to happen in July. I have heard that "Bless You" has also been released in Japan for a while now. Maybe it has something to do with the content of the release being NEW for a certain period to be able to function as a Japanese release. I know that Japan has some pretty strict content laws concerning that. Regardless, the administration end of Badorb might have something to do with who put the "bad" in badorb.com. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
