since you don't want to spend more than $150, i'm guessing this will be for
listening to records only. all the mainstream electronics chain stores (best
buy, circuit city, etc.) should sell a low end record player for about $100.
only downside is that there mostly made of plastic and the needle/cartridge
isn't the greatest. still, my radioshack belt drive has been working fine
for over a year.
if you have patience, try to find a shop where they repair old stereo
equipment. you can get a very sturdy record player that was made in the 70s
or 80s for under $50 that is better sounding than a newer plastic one, and
it will probably last longer too.
if you don't have expensive stereo, the kind of record player you get isn't
going to make that much of a difference anyway.
