oh if only you knew the horrors of the vinyl syndicate in toronto...
a mere example may suffice,
once upon a time I went with my brother to buy the new atmospheric DNB from
the UK that was cropping up here and there and slowly gaining popularity...
we waltz into Eastern Block (the nerve centre of the syndicate) to find that
every piece of atmospheric has been yanked from the shelves...
now, we didn't know right then what was going on, maybe they were sold out
right?
well that's what they tell us... but then we go digging, for old stuff...
original dusty tracks in under the bins and still no luck, all things
related are gone... well this is crazy... so we begin to badger a sales
person...
he finally relents and tells us that everything has been pulled because the
syndicate is working on some new atmospheric tracks and they want to hype
the release... (aka they want to starve the junkies so that all we buy is
their shit)
that's real great... play the monkies in store for idiots... where did the
integrity go? where's the respect in that? where's the choice to get what
is good, not what is forced on you?
at this point we picked up our bags ready to leave and told them to lick
their own choda meat...
however, knowing that my brother tended to be a big spender on his trips
(since we had to drive several hours to get to eastern block) they relented
and pulled out what we were looking for...
there it was all along right behind the f***ing counter...
NICE ONE BOYZ...
I don't know, it's hard to respect a label that pulls shit like that...
I mean granted you don't see that crap when the records arrive at another
store, but that's sheit man... absolute sheit... and I give them negative
respect for it,
any vinyl syndicate track is going to have to blow the pants off me before I
even consider buying it... and the chances of that are slim...
< end rant >
conrad out!

Well, I suppose you probably want to avoid import
prices or whatever, but you can still find all the
Toytronic releases at
http://www.sisterray.co.uk/
They now have limited quantities of a couple of them,
but they're all there, as far as I can see.
