I'll grant you that linux isn't as up to date as say a G6 or another
mac recording outfit, but I'll take the classic linux approach,
your not going to convince anyone to make anything new unless you
use it. Ok, so you believe there is a host of pre-alpha software.
That's common under linux. What would be wrong with plugging in
and old turtle beach sound card and creating some serious sounds
(and artifakts) with Csound, FFTW and TK-707? No, linux probably can't be
your recording
outfit... but it never will be unless you work with it.
Here's an IDM list that prides themselves on being innovative and
original atleast in their listening experience. So then at the same
time they can turn around and buy windows XP for 800 bucks and support
one of the worst software development firms on the planet?
IDM comes from innovation, like playing a hamster cage (Matmos).
I think using an unknown and unheard of software toolkit might fit that
very mindset.
