Hey All --
Just thought I'd just thought I'd re-introduce myself to the list, in
regards to the DJ thread and another thing....
I spin under Linda Leigh/L3 - I've been on this list for a few
years...recently re-sibbed after a bit of time off ( I have a son, 2 years
old now....and he loves music!)
Since I started getting very serious about spinning (about '91), I've
always experimented with not only my sound, but my presentation,
musicality, flow, etc...I've done gabber, hardcore, techno, acid, breaks,
house, etc, so i can beat match like a mf'r. But, something has always
drawn me to the more experimental side of things...Long stints on
Community/College radio and several I-net shows allowed the freedom to
explore all the facets of electronic music. Along with my partner Rob, we
run the www.technotica.com website, There's a few idmesq mixes there - The
mix I used for the Red Bull is not there yet.
I am proud to be representing this Experimental/Idmsq sound at this years
Red Bull Music Academy in NYC this September.
Sooooo...if any of ya happen to be at some of the chiller/more exerimental
spaces in NYC the first 2 weeks of September and see a tall girl with red
hair and a huge grin spinning some tripped out weird shit and stuff...come
on over and say hello!
I'll also be checking out the Schematic night at Limelight!
Right now I am really enjoying Brothamstates/Qtio and the new Mira Calix on
Warp...Jake mandell/Love Songs for Machines, etc etc etc....it's all good G!
Linda Leigh/L3
