Wouldn't that title be the "Totally Rebels of IDM", as
the few IDM groups approaching indie-cred/commercial
limelight are the ones continually preaching that they
are bucking the "overly serious" idm acts supposedly
reinforced by this list, right? Hmm, just who are
these acts, or are these >2000-unit-pressings rebels
pointing at empty chairs? It seems that the
indie-raised journos like to echo an anti-idm-list
sentiment invented on Tigerbeat6 press sheets, but no
one is naming names as far as who the "overly serious"
IDM projects really are. Who are they? So far, it
looks like a clever promo scam to sell 'keeping it
real' points
I guess I wish there was more "serious" idm in the
press to balance the reactionaries' hype in the way
Autechre just does their thing without stage antics,
etc, to explore music for musics-sake and don't fuck
around with other issues like stage prescense etc. Is
something wrong with this,is this what is being
rebelled against in stage antics and in press releases
slamming the list. Who are the black sheep?
