i agree here. overall rob hall wasn't that impressive as a dj. there were mutliple times where you heard the "oops, my arm must have hit the x fader so i guess i'll start this next track now" kind of shit. quite funny actually.

they were pioneer cd decks.

again, haswell went after hall. i guess nobody caught it even though the set went from minimal house/techno to patterned static/noise tinged electro. I think most people

how could he, he was only on for an hour...

nice, i laughed for a while over this one.. in the end, the show was less than inspiring. mirroring what someone on the list said several days ago, they (ae) never strayed from a simple bass hit. so all we were left with were barrages of clumped bass hits that after 15 min or so got quite boring. i think somewhere after amber they started to get into the "we'll just let this groove go on for about 8 min longer than it needs to be" mode. again, less than inspiring. after seeing taylor deupree/carsten nicolai/frank bretschneider in montreal a few weeks ago, i was left last night with the thought that autechre have stopped being one of my favorite idm/microsound artists. maybe i've just moved on. maybe they've stagnated. whatever the case is, there's plenty of other music out there right now and i'm not going to lament the loss of one of idm's founding fathers(s)... craig. . . aural|architecture . . techno|idm|microsound . . host|craig_s . . thursdays|11pm-2am . . 106.9 fm|dayton ohio . . webcast|listen.to/wwsu _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
