hi all. i'm the fuckhead who offered up the soundboard copy of autechres' coachella set earlier this year & left a gang of folks hangin. deepest apologies, but i had a damn good reason for bailing out on the whole procedure. anyhow, i'm fucking sick of people selling or trying to sell the audience copy on ebay or here on the list. some kooks have gone so far as to advertise the audience recording as the soundboard copy. i think a greedy bum or 2 who've got their hands on just the first of both discs from a friend of a friend of a friend of one of the very few people i gave it to when i first transferred it from the dat, have been cashing in on it on ebay. well, for a reason i won't go into, i believe the entire set's about to become as common as the vancouver show, & i'll be damned if i ain't gonna be the one who gives it to the world. while it bothers me that the fucks who've been making money off the audience recording or just the first soundboard disc will now also have the board copy in its entirety, it bothers me less than these bootleggers profiting from it as though it were their own creation. so here's the deal. i don't have a server, but i am on napster & you can find the mp3s encoded at 160 in my library labeled "ae @ coachella from the board - disc 1" & "ae @ coachella from the board - disc 2". my identity is "skamiam-". a friend did a dope job of encoding these & they sound just like the cdrs i made from the dat. many of you are on napster & know the drill but.......grab the program at napster.com, go to your hotlist, click on add user to hotlist, add skamiam-, click on my name in the online box, my library will come up, sort by filename & you'll see it at the top of the list. i don't think mac users have this ability but the shit's probably gonna spread like wildfire so i wouldn't worry much. i have dsl but for some reason one can only download at about 12 to 14 kbps tops, & that's when i only have one upload going, so since a fuckload of people will be trying to grab it, don't be surprised if your transfer rate is 1 kbps or less. i will stay on napster for a couple weeks or so as to let a grip of folks grab it, but it would be super cool if a few people with fat connections could grab it & share as to spread it faster. if your transfer is shit & it takes forever or you lose your connection, don't worry cuz i ain't going anywhere & if it takes an entire day to grab the shit at least you'll know i'll still be there. autechre are my gods & i'd thank them but they didn't give me this set but rather they gave it to my 'brother-in-law' & his colleague who as far as i'm concerned sure as a motherfuck deserve it about a trillionth as much as i do. i've spent fucking shitloads of time & money completing my autechre/gescom collection & would've given both eyes & a nut for this set. luckily, it only took a $200 deposit as collaterol to borrow the dat for an evening to transfer it to cdr for myself alone. so i like to share.......oops ;)
