Here's a breakdown on Meow003, from the Tigerbeat6 label, it's a bunch of NWA
remixes done by the label constituents, around 20 minutes total, well worth
the crack money.
Kid606- Thumping, staticky track, the vocal stretching gets a little out of
hand but the track's held together with roughish breaks and the classic NWA
talkin.
Team Doyobi- Funky sorta electro thing with vocoded vocals and odd, stripped
down percussion.
Christoph de Babylon- Booming rubber band bass with snappy bits of breaks and
"appetite is tremendous!" going in the background, one of my faves.
Hrvatski- Fierce remix of that "Dr. Dre....yes?" song, snappy breaks with
some squalchy noise for the people in the back.
V/vm-kinda good, vocal stretching, uh, not much to say.
Electric Company- Xpress yourself with clawed up breaks and distorto-wavey
stuff, suctions and shit!
Pure- nutty whirr, pretty short.
Lesser- Very well done beat-boxy remix of "Fat girl on my jock", a little
repetitive, but great sounds and vocal twistings.
Dat Politics- Jamming glitchy mixup with a little filtered melody and
cut-ups galore. then some vacuum noises O_o.
Pisstank- Fucking nuts. Breakcore every which way, sounds a lot like that
track on koolpop 004 about "taking back the country", but it's just three
times as insane, sadly like 30 seconds long or something, quality.
Pimmon- didn't like this mix much at all, sorta whirlwind timestretch stuff,
goopy sounds.
Matmos- Mash-up of a bunch of different instrumental stuffs.
Cex-a smooth reworking of a classic dick-sucking track, the delays and dsps
with breakdowns and sink-down-vocals come out well and add to the original's
groove.
White men can laptop,
Jon
