Hi, Didn't want to sound narky. My comment was not directed to you (Kent) personally. Just that I'm not appreciating the overuse in the Ae comparisons. Just sounds like some bandwagonesque. Reminds me of a time when the 4letter pop bands in UK were all branded as Ride imitators - just because they had 4 letter names and sounded like Ride. Look at how that killed off the scene! I would appreciate that Jake Mandell has obvious Autechre influences - but that's no rationale to lump him with the rest of the so-called 'Ae clones'. Notice in Detroit no one refers to D techno artists who are obviously influenced by Derrick May as 'Derrick May School'. Down there they keep it real. Lets give these new artists (who are obviously influenced by Autechre and many other electronic listening bands) credits where they are due.
