asphodel's asphodelic sampler: not sure how long this release has been out,
i just saw it at a local store for $6 and was very pleasantly surprised. the
scratching on the mixmaster mike tracks are great, and i even like the dj
spooky tracks on there...i dont know why everyone who knocked on his
mannerisms also knocked his music, it was nice and smooth and definitely hit
the emotional level with me. perhaps i haven't heard enough to fully
understand...
anyway, a nice cheap cd with some great songs, an overall great value for
some fairly 'i' content.
and on a related note...i've been listening to a lot of a tribe called
quest, and have been seeing a lot of interesting parallels between good hip
hop and idm. not that that's news to anybody ;)
