Hi all! Happy to see Jimi Tenor being mentioned on the list a few times recently... I've got a story about the making of his new album "Out of Nowhere" (which will be out on Warp in July) and lots more at my JT site Tenorvision if you're interested... have a look: http://pasila.lib.hel.fi/~cgurney/tenor/ btw, I've had a chance to hear the album, and I must say it's worth the wait... quite different from his previous work, but absolutely brilliant! After searching for ages, I've finally landed a copy of Jimi Tenor's Sahkomies on CD, dated 1994, on Warp, Licensed from Sahko & Zomba. My problem with this recording is that almost all tracks distort in the upper levels - is this meant to happen? Does it distort on the vinyl? Was it overcompressed? It's really unpleasant and I'm thinking of returning it, because I know it will drive me mad and I won't listen to it. I haven't noticed any willful distortion on his other releases, so I don't think this is the way he wanted it to sound... ??
