hi all, just picked this up in a bargain-bin for 4UKP (6USD), it came out on Talking Loud, what, a year or two ago? Pretty interesting.. I guess Nicolette got famous doing stuff like "Waking Up" with the Shut Up and Dance guys.. her album from about '91 with them was re-issued recently, I think. Anyway, for idm-relevance, Plaid produce 4 or 5 of the tracks on the album, and there's a 2nd remix CD with a Plaid remix, as well as Krust and Roni Size remixes. Production duties on the rest of the album are shared between Dego (of 4 Hero fame) and Alec Empire, and there's one great track produced by some guy called Felix - anyone know who this is? Anyhow, thought this was worth mentioning 'cos it's _very_ Bjork-ish and a little bit obscure, so some list-members might not have picked up on it. Anyone know if Nicolette has any new material coming out? [Also, actually, wassup with Shut Up and Dance? A friend saw them DJ recently in London and said they were tiptop, and I believe I saw a major-label single and even a video recently from them..] regards, h0l/m211+tonik [http://www.mono211.com] ps - oh, a 4 Hero tidbit - their remixes of Scarface's "I Seen A Man Die" or something similar, which I found on the CD single from a year or two back, are absolutely _amazing_ and well worth looking out. pps - heard the new Warp/Rephlex material. Jones single is, umm, interesting, the Cylob mixes make it quite Soft Cell, as I think someone said. Squp's "Maximum Priest" is reasonable, the remixes are much more interesting, tho, and I especially love the Luke Vibert remix, but this is from someone who's a big Vibert fan - especially after the video for "Lovely"! And the Cylob EP.. hmm, pretty useful, stylish and all that, but now I'm addicted to his full-on electro stylings after "Rewind", i want "Living in the 80s" to come out NOW! Did anyone ascertain which programme on the Rapture cablechannel in the UK Cylob did the music to, btw? I caught the end of it a few days ago but I still don't know when it's on and what it is? :)
