also for whoever was looking for fishcake/sound of thule - forced exposure
listed it in a recent 'new release' mailing, CD and vinyl. I just ordered
a copy of that + gilberto gil's 1969 'cerebro electronico.' I'll also
have to add to the seemingly large amount of enthusiasm for Pole on this
list - picked up the raum 12" on din & the various artists remix 12" on
fat cat based on various list-members recommendations & have been v.
excited about both. can't wait for the domestic release of LP1/2.... also
wondering what other surprises matador has in store for us...
another release with lock grooves that is worth mentioning I suppose is
Interdimensional Transmissions: From Beyond v. 4, the first side of which
features 10 lock grooves & a track that plays from the inside out. the
label only lists 2 songs: shake - 'freeform' and uni - 'latch' so I'm not
sure how it breaks down. all the lock grooves are rhythmic, also.
if you're in the triangle/NC area, I'm doing a one-hour 'ambient' set to
open the 'freak for all' at the cat's cradle tonight from 9-10pm.
