I havent seen a review either, and Ill not attempt to review it, but comments? Lets just say experimental comes to mind. I didnt really find too many melodies (stay far away if you like melodies) with the exception of the lil polka tunes run thru heavy distortion. If you are into very bizzarre V/VM noise and randomness, youll love it. The "booklet" is a xerox fanzine that is supposed to help explain the music, but its a bunch of old photos with cryptic poetic captions and since I cant read Russian cyrillics the other half of the fanzine was as incomprehensible as the record that came packaged in bubblewrap, INSIDE a giant Ziploc baggie. I cant say Im super-impressed and Ive only listened to it 5 or 6 times so I cant say If I hate it or not, but I find it intriguing all the same. There *are* about 5 or 6 minutes of very beautiful moments sprinkled throughout but yer sittin' through the german 'chicken' dance run thru a phaser/flanger and other madness in between. It supposed to be limited so you wont lose anything picking it up as Im sure the noiseheads and rando-philes on this list would be happy to take it off your hands. Personally, I would have preffered to listen to it first but when you mail order I guess you take the good w/the bad! I still have about 10 more listens to go, ernie PS- before the Germans get mad, Im sure the real name of the above mentioned 'chicken dance' has some more dignified name, but when I was in 5th grade, its what my music teacher forced us to clap to so I know it by no other name. It was only recently I learned that the British sing ' my country Tis of thee' , but about God saving their queen ;) !!! chart runners (compiled and butchered by cv[EV] ) is really hard to pin. experimental, yup... but that doesn't say much... its a big stew pot of sounds, ranging from noisy lustmordian industrial mayhem from back before lustmord stopped making ears bleed (see also : throbbing gristle, coil, etc etc) to a negativland gone wrong mess of noise and pop (?) hits (?) saw a mailorder list say this is a must for fans of the likes of farmers manual, but its not like farmers manual... its very different, like nothing else in my collection and maybe like farmers manual in that regard, but this thing is both fun and disturbing and makes a great toy (mess with the pitch, mix with other stuff... spin backwards... hehehehe... its like log, i swear!) aside from that, it totally defines description... if you are left unimpressed, send your copy my way, as i'm going to wear out the two i have (no kidding) ^brap@sonic.net^ [icq: 12645306] http://www.sonic.net/~brap/ [blackdog][v/vm][jamesbernarddiscography]...etc etc etc sfwd.dyn.ml.org [occasional web.irc.ftp.etc]]] chris g. 1547 boston court #7, santa rosa, ca 95405
