played a really good set in dc last night, whilst opening for curve. he was really enjoying himself, let me say. he did half an hour of very richie hawtin-esque stuff, then 10 minutes of speedy j-ish d'n'b, then 20 minutes of freaky chakra-type techno. not as good as the freaky chakra v single cell orchestra that saw opening for meat beat, but good nonetheless. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### ambition can make you look pretty ugly.

Unfortunately, I have to totally disagree. FC's live set was about the worst stuff I've heard him put out. I mean, there was hardly anything other than a four-on-the-floor beat the entire time, with hardly any variation whatsoever. The NYC crowd applauded, amazingly enough, because all I saw and heard around me were grunts and groans about how much longer is this going to take, etc... I was majorly disappointed... have to go back and listen to the albums I guess to regain my faith. -- jr
