WHOA! Now just hold on there boyuh! I could *swear* heard a track by this guy on some local radio show, only it mentioned him as being on King Coffee's Trance Syndicate label. I remember thinking ""Wow, this is a great track, this is on Trance Syndicate? No one will believe me on the IDM list" so I kept my mouth shut :-) Is this the same person, and if so, what has he released on Trance Syndicate, and has anyone else heard it ... - Greg

Yes this is the same person. As fate would have it I saw an ep titled daydream nightmare by 8 frozen modules the other day. So after reading the review of the other ep I went and picked it up <damn store won't let you play sealed vinyl!>. It is indeed on the trance syndicate label <TR 59 to be exact>. I was familliar with this label because my roommate is into windsor for the derby <another band on the label..very good if you dig the post rock noodelings of tortoise and the like>. Anyhow, here is quick review: All tracks recorded and produced by Ken Gibson Side A. Sand Bubbles. The sound of static meets your ears entwined with drum and bass influenced meanderings of distorted drums. The track has a disturbing quality. The noises never quite meshing. A theme for a nightmare in an urban filled landscape. delivery four Not as distorted. The beat is urban and a little more organized. The synth sweeps flow almost hypnotically. Lulling you into it. Perhaps an emergence from the nightmaish urban landscape inspired by the previous song. Side B Under the palace The beat reminds me of a focred march. The melody surrounding it plods you along. It seems to be taking you somewhere. Very dark. White Mud arrival Take a sweeping ambient track with very few beats and distort the hell out of it. Beauty in that juxtoposition. In short, if you see it buy it. Also, Ken Gibson is in a band called furry things <which is also on the trance syndicate label>. From what I know of the band <which is very little> their style is in that post rockish/bowery electric vein. -dan

Is this the same as Frozen Modules (without the Eight) that had a track (my favourite, as it happens) on the 'Wow! and Flutter' CD? I can't beleive a name like that could come up twice by different people. Cheers Nick
