I realize now that I ripped myself off, and shouldn't have flown off the handle before I knew what was going on. I hadn't seen any mention here that the first release of "Come to Daddy" was on two separate CDs. I know that's often the case, but I hadn't seen it discussed on the list for this particular release. If it was discussed and I missed it, OK, I'll admit it, every once in a while I'll delete a whole digest without reading it because it starts to taste like Spam after a while. The first "Come to Daddy" I saw was the 8-song UK release, which I bought, only to see the domestic release occur (completely by surprise, I didn't see any US release dates mentioned here in advance, either) less than a week later. This Orange CD didn't pop up on my radar until yesterday, and since I hadn't heard of it, I figured it was new. My mistake, of course, although based on the information presented on the list, I don't think there was any way to know. Yeah, who cares? Maybe this can serve as a warning to anyone else in the US who suddenly sees this single and doesn't know what it is. As angry as I was over what I saw to be a giant international conspiracy with RDJ grinning in the center of it all, I was trying to be funny by asking him to apologize. Love and free muesli, y'all.
