Hey, y'all. As some of you may know, I host a weekly radio show up here in Toronto called Feedback Monitor (tuesdays 10 PM to midnight on CIUT 89.5 FM for those of you in the area) where I spin electronic and experimental music of various forms. The show was recently expanded from one hour to two, and while I can't really complain about the extra time, it has presented me with the dilemma of an extra hour to fill. I like to focus on new releases as much as possible, and up until now, I generally haven't had a problem filling most of the show with stuff released in the preceding couple of weeks. With two hours, it's not quite so easy. So rather than falling into the trap of playing the same stuff week after week, I'm going to try to plan some "specials" - label profiles, artists spotlights, things like that. In addition, I'd like to do a demo showcase of some sort on at least a semi-regular basis. I know there are a lot of musicians on this list that are doing some cool stuff - some I've heard, some I've read about, some I probably don't know about at all. Whatever the case, I wanna hear it. Check out my playlists on my website (address below) and if you do shit that you think would fit in with what I do, send it my way. Obviously, this offer of airplay is also extended to signed artists, so artists and labels with stuff to hype can send it to me. Even though I often spend upwards of $100 a week on new choons, I know that I'm barely scratching the surface of what's out there, especially when it comes to the small & hard-to-find labels. If you're out there, let me know! And finally, I am *especially* interested in Canadian stuff. As a programmer on a Canadian radio station, I am supposed to abide by Canadian content (or CanCon) regulations, which basically means that I should be playing more Canadian music than I have been. I'd like to change that at least a little, so if you are a Canadian artist or label, *please* get in touch. Oh, one more thing - in addition to my show, I also do a bit of freelance writing for various mags both print & online, and I'm a senior writer & electronic music editor at Chart, a mational music mag up here in Canada. So in addition to airplay, I might be able to score you a bit of print action as well. cheers, Greg Clow feedback monitor 158 Close Ave. 2nd Floor Toronto ON M6K 2V5 Canada http://www.interlog.com/~stained/feedback

Partially, yes. But moreso, this is an attempt to make my show more interesting. I'm getting tired of the same old stuff week after week, and it sounds like a lot of IDM folk are doing some wicked shit that deserves more exposure. While I won't deny that the expansion of my music collection is a nice side effect, I really get a buzz out of playing otherwise unheard stuff over the airwaves. It's especially cool when, as happened this week, someone calls while I'm playing a cassette release to find out what it is and where they can get it. Gives me a warm, squishy feeling down in my ulcer-ridden stomach. (or maybe that's just the sausage & saurkraut I had for lunch... urp...) Greg
