Heh. I was *wondering* when the confusion would start... A couple of months ago, I was talking to Gordon, my promo rep pal at Release, and we were chatting about what we'd been listening to lately. I was raving about the stuff on Broadrick's Lo Fobre label (which he hadn't heard of) and mentioned Solaris as being particularly good. Dead silence on the other end of the line. Followed by... "WHAT did you say it was called??". "Solaris", I say. "FUUUUUUCKK!", he sez. Seems they had no idea that SolarIs was already being used as a project name (especially as one in the same loose "genre"), and had already printed up the covers and promo material for their own SolarUs relase. They're both good, and I think someone who likes one will like the other, but it's still rather confusing. And on a somewhat related note, I recently learned that the Lo Fibre label (as well as it's planned sybling label, Hi Fibre) has been put on an indefinate hiatus due to distribution problems. While I can understand this - records on the label were a *bitch* to find (much like Mick Harris' Possible stuff) - it's still a shame. And finally, big ups to Grant and Chris for extolling the virtues of my new release listings webpage to the list. Hits to that page have gone through the roof in the last week. Glad y'all are finding it useful. :-) Next time you visit, poke around the rest of the site too, I'd be interested to know what people think. The fun starts at http://www.interlog.com/~stained (although if you want to go straight to the IDM-related portions of the site, stick a /feedback on the end). Greg
