To all the New Yorkers on the list: I'm trying to put together a list of the email addresses of all the New York City scenesters on the IDM list so we can share announcements of local events with one another without bothering the whole list. The point is only to say stuff like "there's a show on friday" and other local event announcements, not for group conversations and stuff. ***I'm not starting a mailing list like IDM!*** I only want to share what I know and allow others to share with me what they know about what's going on. Everyone who wants to be on this list should send me an email with "NYC/IDM" as the subject line. I will put everyone's email address together in a single document and mail it back out to everyone who participated. Then, each of us will be able to put together our own mailing lists in our respective email clients' address books and share announcements of local events with one another. I do not intend to maintain or expand this list in any way. It's a one time deal for me. The list may expand on it's own, however. Here's how: If I add a name (say a new freind I meet next week) to my own local address book mailing group, it will show up in the TO: feild of the emails sent to every recipient. If you want, you can then add that name to your own list. If you get an announcement from someone you don't know, that name can also be added to your own list. In fact, if there ends up with two hundred names on the list I may be a bit overwhelmed and I reserve the right to cancel this project! Please, only New Yorkers who really want to know about local events should submit their names. No non-New Yorkers who just wanna get a glimpse as to the nature of the NY local scene. So start sending 'em in to me! I'll send the compiled list back out next week. -CF chrisfahey@mindspring.com
