I can tell you that, yes, this is in fact true. NYC represent! He also tries to play a lot of American acts in general (as opposed to the usual expected euro/brit acts). It's called helping your peeps. I for one am happy to see American electronic bands being pushed. If he were only playing the most popular electronic music or the most well-known artists we would never hear an American band at all on the show. The most successful American electronic dance acts are Josh Wink and BT, and although in concert they can pack 20,000 screaming, sweaty, lager-swillin brits into an English bog, they couldn't sell a dozen records in the US even if they gave them away. They really were never even that good or innovative. Americans invented Disco, Techno, and Hip Hop. If you don't count hip hop acts, we have not produced an influential or successful electronic act in a nearly decade. Maybe a band shown on AMP will change that. -CF
