Oh, come on, g.! :) 'Intervision' is just gorgeous, I've been spinning it constantly during the last days. I really hate writing reviews, especially when I can't do it with my own precious language ;) but suffice it to say that I love the way Jimi combines together all kinds of different styles (acid jazz, 'proper' old school jazz, even Iggy Pop influences - you may not believe me, but Jimi has confessed Iggy is his big influence), and still manages to sound like himself, not like some weak imitation/retro things the charts are full of these days. Outstanding tracks? Well, there are too many of them, but I like 'Sugardaddy' (this reminds me of Iggy's 'The Idiot' album somehow) and 'Atlantis' (a massive jazz epic, combining Miles and Trane with Bernard Herrmann's soundtrack for 'Taxi Driver'), for example. This is easily one of the best releases this year, so far. ekku the maintainer of pHinnWeb - everything u ever wanted to know about Finnish techno scene but were too afraid of the reindeer trerra@uta.fi | http://www.uta.fi/~trerra | http://www.sci.fi/~phinnweb

yes of course all this is true. it is one of warp's very best albums. radio 1 wouldn't playlist _can't stay with me baby_ because it was too 'avantgarde'. :( g.
