As to the pricing/length of cds: Why do record companies bother making eps? A cd ep is the same disc as a full length, in the same case with the same artwork. I don't think that artist royalties are any less. Less profit than full lengths. Probably just so as not to piss off the artists by telling them to put more into a project they consider finished. Or maybe it's an attempt to somehow keep cds in line with vinyl? hmmmm -john

<RUNON SENTENCE> even though the cost side of the profit equation for the record co's, is probably not much different than for a full length, the record companies, in their incredibly benevolence, realize that if they were to release the "short" work at full price, the inevitable exponential loss of internet bandwidth due to endless pointless non-music related arguments by rabid anal IDM trainspotters would reduce the hits they get to their megacorporate web pages. </RUNON SENTENCE> it's all music and capitalism. let's focus on the music. on now: the voder: mannequin peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeece, Jeff Davis <pHlow> ____--~~~~~~vvvv~~~~ oooo812.831.7846 jjdavis@xnet.com____---- ( ( ( vvvv ~~~~~~ooooooooooooo ___----( ( \ \ \ \ \ vvv ooooooooooooooooooo ____---- ( \ \ \ \ \ \ \ http://www.xnet.com/~jjdavis/

It comes down to the artist. Sometimes I think it's better to explore an idea in a shorter format than a full length album. Especially if you're testing out the waters with something new or experimenting in new directions. Of course, sometimes an EP seems like an eternity (45 minutes of the box...ungh!).. _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ RESH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/fresh.htm
