Sorry guys!
No flamebait here; but, I can't believe what I've been seeing about
the origins of these musical styles. I thought this had been discussed
enough that it was open knowledge.

Close. Techno started in Detroit. BUT, it wasn't well-received at first
and many early artists ended up in the Netherlands and Germany where the
audience was more receptive. This is why many people (mistakenly) believe
that techno started in Europe. (These are NOT widely disputed facts here.
Read up on this!)

No, no, no. House comes from Chicago. It started in a Chicago club
called the Warehouse. Hence the name "house". (No, it did not start
with the "House Party" series of movies! ;-)
Now gabber? I think gabber came from the Netherlands; but, I am not
sure about that. But, truth be told, techno and house were borne out
of the industrial cities of the US midwest.
If these facts seem a little dubious, look around and read some artist
interviews. (The TEX/TAX booklets are probably available to most.)
Peace and good frequency response,
