All this talk about the ludicrous prices being charged for the Calix 10" has inspired me to pop in for just one moment to gloat about the fact that I happened to be standing in the warehouse of a certain North American distributor who shall remain nameless when they were processing their few precious copies of this wonderful rekkid. So I got one - their last one, actually. At wholesale cost, yet. Yowza! Just goes to show that sometimes in pays to be a DJ/music writer/kiss-up music industry whore. :-) Speaking of which - I've got a couple of promos that I'm looking to unload since I'd already bought myself the commercial versions before recieving them. First reasonable offer gets 'em: DANIEL IBBOTSON - "Souped Up" white label 12" (Clear) --- same as the commericial release, just sleeveless with nothing on the label 'cept the Clear logo. A little bit electro, a little bit techno, a little bit experimental house. Not the best thing the label has done, but still pretty nice. X-ASP - "Terra Firma" CD (Rephlex) --- this came without the bright green digipak cover of the commericial release, but it's otherwise indentical, and since the track titles are listed on the disc and not the cover, it doesn't really matter, does it? :-) This is a great set of techno in the Rephlex stylee, including a killer u-Ziq mix.
