---------------------------------------------
a now, little review... for those that care, otherwise DELETE.
01
very FSOL-ish (circa "Lifeforms") in that oceanic, directionless kinda way
02
after ~2 min of the light STC line from the orginal, in KICKS in the traditional Craig
treatment: smooth, slick and 100% Detroit beats for 8 more minutes (very nice)
03
smoother than the original and in a VERY good way. real chewy bass line to this one
(me like dis wun a lut)
04 kinda waddles along, nothing extraordinary
05 cosmic, clean the subtlest drum 'n' bass line ever. beautiful, dubby and very cool
06 another chewy bass line, a bit housy but very smooth, sly even.... wait a minute...
SLEEK, that's what i'm talkin about...9 minutes of SLEEKness
07
great bass line (from orig) is THERE, but there's some great jazz percusion goin' on
here. 100% snazz, you go jonah!
08
not really familia with the HIA stuff other than the recent collab w/geir jenssen, but
this mix is pretty good, very interesting drum loops. it's great original tune and
its remixed form does nothing to shatter that fact.
09
bass thumps kinda roll along. very bizarre "absolut black" sample running at times.
very strange mxing style the subtropic outfit has: the main "kairo" theme is
intertwined so that when the main theme is ON, the thumps stop, and vice versa...
then at ~2 min mark, it's pure drum 'n' bass. never heard anything like it!
10
shortest of the bunch rolling in at 3.5 minutes. there's a loud tick tock thing going
on in the beginning, makes you feel like you're inside the largest clock...weird? (no
i was not on any drugs at the time). toward the end, the mix heads to that
ever-familiar ambient, jazzy region.
11
now i'm an Ae. FANATIC, but i have to admit that this is one of booth/brown's weakest
remix efforts. very short for them too, only about 5 min. sorry boys, the original
is better. (i'm very SAD to report this)
----------------------------------
on last thing, oddly enough "out here" is not rehashed and i think it's one of my
faves from "emit ecaps". i think a lot of folks would have had a field day with this
one (ie. gier jenssen, dave morley)... oh well...
