"Unearthed, Unveiled & Unleashed by David Thrussell & Pieter Bourke" Extreme XCD 038 This CD would appeal to listmembers who are into the Pork camp and stuff like Two Lone Swordsmen, Blue, Rockers Hi-Fi, and NonPlace Urban Field. This set is a blend of dub, trip-hop, and a little house with a melodic edge. This one is not quite as hard-edged as the last one (Hollow Earth). This CD has some very diverse found-sounds used in interesting ways. I particularly like the the use of tabla and world beats. Several songs have an overt reggae structure dubbed way up. Some songs are densely layered, and others are more spacious. Overall, there is a building, "epic" trancey-ness to the whole thing. The last selection "Endless" is a soundscapish sort of thing. These guys are members of MACOS --- the organization against the copyright of samples. By the way...several tunes are overtly danceable. $14 is too little to pay for this gem : ) 9.5/10 On Now: Wind Chimes: Tinkles...
