heard this? ACACIA - Sway 12" (Radar - SCANT20) 1 sway (original) 2 sway - PLAID mix 3 squeezebox sway (ANTHONY MANNING mix) 4 and everyone's in love and flowers pick themselves the original is just another of Acacia's 'dude,IwishwewuzA.R.Kane' oddities. But Plaid take the song and give it some serious elektrofunk menace - minimal and slightly house-y. The end of the Plaid mix cracks the tune wide open and goes for some modest last-minute Bjorkisms. Not one of Plaid's finer moments, but a Plaid moment nonetheless. Trainspotters alert! Manning's wheezing accordion cut-n-paste job is ..um... interesting. And the final track might be sugary enough to have you screaming for insulin, but it does use a very cool shuffling breakbeat foundation and some truly whacked sampled feedback splashes (another patented A.R. Kane trick. This is a pretty thourough Xerox job!). A keeper. Anyone have thoughts on these? TLM - I've Got the Battery, Where's the Slot?
