Indeed, Richard IS Luke Vibert. He has a permanently employed actress living
in Cornwall pretending to be his mother. He also has a Luke mask made from
real human skin which he wears for interviews. He is, in fact, not even
Richard, but Frank Zappa, who hasn't really passed away but has been
recording avant garde music for decades. He is also Mike Paradinas and
Bochum Welt.
"New" artists can't gain any self-satisfaction from people saying that all
THEIR tracks are by Aphex Twin. Can everybody cut this out because if
Richard does a track, it's hardly going to be credited to another artist.
Who cares anyway. From working with several upcoming artists, I see how
frustrating this is. Take the Kosmik Kommando. Every track he's ever done
has been reviewed somewhere as Richard's work, even though it's about as
similar as Michael Jackson at ages 12 and 32. Stop getting kicks out of
little made-up secrets and rumours THAT DON'T MATTER 2 HOOTS.
(especially if you are the Warp website).
Sorry to go off on one but this has been going on for about 4 years and it
really gets me pissed.
