My first impression from listening to the new Orbital CD once:
"Buy this album NOW!" :-)
And I'm no big Orbital worshipper/trainspotter - some of their stuff
makes me yawn when I listen to it at home instead of the dance floor (even
from the universally acclaimed second album).
But the new one is very inventive - no rust at chez Hartnoll. While there
is still a definable Orbital sound, Snivilisation is quite different from
their previous work.
If it sounds like I'm avoiding specifics, it's because it's not similar to
much else (part of what's good about it!). Some of the tracks are perhaps
like, say, Moby remixed by the Orb (or is it The Orb remixed by Moby?). :-)
New sound colors, different rhythms. A few vocals... Odd cover art!
