|> superstition is one of the leading german labels often mentioned in |> the same breath as eye-q.. | |Actually Superstition is a Play It Again Sam label, and has no |affiliation to Eye-Q. It's based in Hamburg, unlike Eye-Q, which is from |Frankfurt. Oliver Lieb (i.e. Spicelab) has his best work on Superstition |(I think). right.. by 'mentioned in the same breath' i mean that superstition is as almost as widely respected as eye-q and very similar in style.. | 1st, a few qs about recent thingies... |Superstition: right. Ive now got a friends copy of Lieb's LSG 'fragile' ep |on this label. It seems OK, but not essential; however, I heard a tune |from the LSG 'Blueprint' ep, also on superstition. This *was* excellent. |Any details on this - ie its age - is it out now? I saw a 2lp pack |complition from the Superstit label - apparently this is ok, but not |bollock blowing. Listened to another tune on same label (forgot title) |and same applies to this (nice to note it was at uk price even though |it was imported though). the most essential 12"s on superstition are paragliders, which is an oliver lieb pseudonym, and velocity, which is dj kid paul from berlin, who spins a club night with paul van dyk.. i highly suggest both the original mixes of velocity and the brand new remixes that i hear have been licensed to guerilla.. also notable is new remixes of paragliders will be coming out on rising high RSN with the original, a new mix by humate, and a new mix by mijk van dijk (microglobe, marmion).. just this week new remixes of lsg's (oliver lieb) 'fragile' are out with a pascal f.e.o.s. mix and 2 or 3 vapourspace mixes.. not drop dead awesome, but decent in its own right.. and ALSO out this week (superstition are *busy*) is superstition allstars vol. 1 which includes one brand new song each from humate, jens lissat, lsg, and marmion.. the lsg song on here is probably my favorite lsg tune..
