to Jamie <jwilson1@alsvid.scu.edu.au>, from austria, i guess ;-):
thanks for the info (sorry about the delay). none of the tracks you have
are on the album... really fine ones on there, i would judge by now, are
"wicked city", "tune for a replicant", and "a sonic fairy tale" (weird
enough titles? not really), as well as the zero bpm vinyl bonus "ohm". what
i especially like about the first two of these is the way the mood suddenly
switches between dark and light by really minimal change, so the tracks end
up having an original ambi(val)ence about them. (had to do those brackets
:-))
i was quite astonished (and a bit disappointed), however, to find out that
the thudding has just about the familiar temperature on *my* equipment. can
i believe that exciting warmth was due to the shop's amp?
...still, a decent down-to-earth release, no attempt at experiments, but
definitely no embarrasings either (that are so easy to stumble over in the
trance area - i can't get over that shakuhachi in morley's kinetic remix).
40 but cosmic: the guy who first took me to a h*rdc*r* club was the
chairman of a conference i attended, also 40.
