Saw these guys last night for the finale of the triptych festival (Barrowlands, Glasgow). I have to say I was disapointed by the 'phex. He was basically sitting behind his laptop doing a bit of a mash-up DJ set, which I half expected. I hoped he would do something original and great, with something other than a laptop (especailly since releasing drukqs), but no. I was also a bit disapointed by the noise group Wolf Eyes, but at least they were doing something properly live. It seemed to lack something though, some structure (even noise should have a bit of one I feel). I think others who were there would disagree with me about this act though. I think quite a lot of people were impressed. For me, the star act was The Bug (Kevin Martin). It was an absolutely fantastic performance of kind of dub step with two live vocalists. Very dub, very fast, very cool. I totally recommend people see this guy. What did the rest of you think? There must be some folk here who went! Philip
