There is only one Amen break, the break from "Amen Brother" by The
Winstons. The Funky Drummer break is called The Funky Drummer Break. And
so on. "...Jungle Groove" is a good bunch of JB hits tho.

I believe "technique" was the subject of the poster's question. To the
OP, try a noise gate, either after or without an expander. A compressor
will only make it more smeary.
