Yes, well we all know the issues around downloading...it's been discussed here a lot. My point is that we should develop an truly "indie ethic" by stop using the terms and addressing the issues presented by the RIAA and look for a bigger picture. For instance why did Philips release cd burning technology to the home market in the first place? I don't know if they were owned by the same parent to the Philips/Universal music companies but if they were someone at the top made the decision to balance the loss of the value of their music catalogue with an increase in sales of hardware and blank discs.
