I like his synthesizer approach.

I disagree, Nighttime World Vol2. sounds more recent.
Internal Empire sounds like minimal techno from the mid 90's.
Nighttime World Vol2. there is a certain futurism to a lot of the
tracks, you would call it "pale,
cheap imitation of mediocre lounge " but I disagree.

I hate to brag but when I was like 16 or 17 I went through a jazz house
faze, I was buying stuff like C.F.M Band Jazz It Up, Pal Joey, Larry
Heard on Black Market this was back in the early 90's.
A lot of classical music and jazz is a bit boring for my taste, it
doesn't have the same appeal as electronic music, i think acoustic
interments sound better in a live setting.

I wouldn't call it a step back.
Detroit techno from the late 80's sounded much different.

I hear a difference in his sound, it has defiantly changed from the mid
90's.
