*Yee-King - SuperUser [Rephlex]
sort of like a youthful sounding u-ziq or even aphex at times, but bringing
some serious techno analog oldskool action into the mix
*Mum - Yesterday was dramatic, today is ok [Thule Iceland]
okay what can't iceland do? between the elfen princess herself - bjork and
sigur ros, they've reduced the world to a shambolic mass of quivering etherial
mush, whatever that means.
*Bomb the Bass vs. Lali Puna
everyone on here knows about this already, if you don't, do yourself a worthy
favour and hear it soon. brings back memories of the first time i heard the
mowax headz collection only better.
*Hawke - Who is Hawke? [sunburn?]
okay okay this is a total preview release [slated for feb 2002, i think] I'm
not even sure if it is gavin hardkiss aka hawke, but if it is - well well san
francisco has a new sound - not quite idm but its so goddamn catchy and there's
nary a filtered house cliche in 80 minutes of rocking tracks! brilliant
*Sean Paul - Various 12"s [VP]
again not really idm, but i'd argue that many dancehall riddims could be
loosely considered idm - my money is on infiltrate, deport them & strategy
*Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies and Uprock Narratives [warp]
funky groovey jazzy beaty, annoys the shit out of hiphop purists, 10 out of 10
for the most imaginative use of a mpc 2000 I've ever heard.
*Pub - Do You Ever Regret Rantomime [ampoule]
just too good.
