Hey, I must add my opinion to this discussion (as hot as vinyl vs. cd): I think that electronic musicians (I am one) owe their audience something. If that means a video projection or bobbing your head or improvising or whatever, then great. I've seen a number of great rock acts play their songs exactly the same live and have never bothered with them again. No matter how much they jumped around. I feel the same with electronic acts. Give something to the people that paid their 5 bucks to get in. However you interpret it. My way--play all your gear live. Show them how you move about. But, like it matters--everybody and his mother has an opinion either way.
