this is all about perception, man.
if cher put out a "cher vs. fatboyslim" album, and you say you like
electronic music, and someone says to you:"like cher's new album?" what do
you say? how do you feel? do you tip your hat to a moron? and, its the fact
that there is no realization going on, dood. all we get in return for our
criticizm of commercial crap is " your stuck up" or "your an eletist". and
it is ONLY in electronic music that this happens. i like hip hop too. but,
somebody who listend to No Limit records stuff doesnt call me stuck up
because i listen to the roots or shadow. and some woman doesnt call me a
fucknin eletist because i read dostoyevsky instead of king or clancey.
yeah, there are no decent record stores here. i take that back, there are,
but what they are told is that america wants to buy this electronic music.
if i went in there and said "you need to stock hefty records stuff, man"
they would say "no one would care, no one knows about it, no one would buy
it". ARGHHHHH! do you hear me on this? i dont care about what i have around
me, by god you should see my credit card bill for records that i have
ordered from everyconer of the globe (the internet can be credited with most
culture i indulge in). i just wish that americans knew the truth, there is
tons more out there. tons.
