i wonder if this has to do with the accessibility of the names. obviously something easy to say yet odd like Aphex Twin is catchier than a mish mash of new words. essentially anything that is problematic to pronounce will be excluded from the mainstream media, with the exception of autechre (who also usually avoids mainstream media). maybe they like the kid thing. kid rock, kid 606, both agressive.. hmm...
