there's no way to put dj's on the same level as producers or musicians. no way at all. but there are some dj's that really are great at what they do, and can't be knocked. after all, we wouldn't be here without them. they were our "shamans" at the little psychadelic tribal gatherings that started this all, eh? it's an obvious point with production, but do you think that a dj trained in music (as in instruments like piano, trumpet, etc.) have the upperhand when it comes to their DJ skills? of course if they develop better pitch, but otherwise? do you think it's easier to find tunes that are remarkable and will ultimately be the better tunes in the genre the dj is partial to? does anybody know of any good examples? a. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
